Bringing our clients together for our annual lunch celebration
We recently held our annual lunch event at the historic Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth and it proved a great opportunity to thank our existing clients and give them a chance to meet and chat with the fund managers that actually manage their money. The lunch provided a great medium to show our clients how Goodmans works as financial planners to protect and enhance their lifestyles and finances in an unpredictable global marketplace.
The lunch featured key speakers including our founder David Goodman MBE, who following a successful and decorated career in the Royal Navy, set the company up in Plymouth back in 1995, and David Swanwick, a vice president of Dimensional Fund Advisors, one of the global fund management companies that Goodmans works closely with.
While the original Mr Goodman regaled the floor with Navy tales, local history and how the company came about, Swanwick took our guests on an entertaining journey through the intricacies and anomalies of the world of stocks and shares. He shared a number of amusing and thought provoking insights, from the tale of top share-tipping cat, Orlando, to how flexibility and longevity are key to ensuring successful investment growth.
Finbarr O’Reilly, Goodmans’ director and senior financial planner, updated our guests on the tax implications of the recent budget and director Andrew Moore closed the event by updating them with a roundup of 2015 and how they can help shape the company moving forward with the setup of their new Client Advisory Board.
Goodmans currently has two offices in the region, Plymouth and Totnes. As our fresh approach to financial planning continues to attract more and more savvy investors, we are planning to expand the business with a third, located in Exeter, in the next 18 months.
We specialise in creating plans, tailored to suit every individual client and their unique lifestyle requirements to enable them to implement a game plan to comfortably enjoy retirement without a fear of future financial security.
